The 21st Sino-European CSR Roundtable Forum
As a professional and practical communication platform and channel for corporate social responsibility (CSR), the Sino-European CSR Round Table Forum has been successfully held 20 times in the past years. It has been well received by stakeholders and conducted with great support from participants, including relevant Chinese government departments, CSR organizations as well as Chinese and European enterprises.
The Sustainable Development Report 2019 released this year sheds light on the progress the world is making to achieve the SDGs and highlight the areas that need our most urgent attention. It also calls for deeper, faster and more ambitious response and better cooperation with talents and expertise to accelerate SDG actions. As the core network chain of the private sector, the supply chain plays a vital role in promoting economic, social and environmental sustainability during this process.
However, as the supply chains become more complex, the challenges of supply chain management are increasing, especially for the transparency of the supply chain. Better tools and collaboration is necessary for quickly and efficiently bringing out the greatest value of supply chains. The intelligent and data-based supply chain management supported by information technology means can integrate and optimize online and offline resources as well as internal and external management systems, promote wiser supply chain decision-making, and improve the efficiency and transparency of the whole supply chain. Also, the collaboration among supply chain partners and stakeholders, including suppliers, manufacturers and retailers, facilitates the progress. Data application and collaboration complement each other and will stimulate changes in the market boundaries, business mix, business model and operational model among companies, and ultimately help them achieve cost reduction, efficiency and model upgrades.
This forum aims to deepen the results of previous sessions, share the concepts, experiences and methods of building a responsible supply chain, and how to promote the visualization, networking and digitization of the supply chains with data and collaboration within and outside companies for better transparency of the supply chains and a well-established supply chain system with more risk prediction capabilities.
