The objective of the forum is to establish a communication platform for buyers and suppliers and to deliver constructive suggestions regarding topics related from the perspective of corporate social responsibility.

If taken reference to the ISO 26000 Guidance on Social Responsibility, we may find that company's understanding of its own social responsibility constitutes the foundation of  a responsible supply chain. Enterprises in difference segment of the supply chain can apply various approaches including due diligence and life cycle management to know their own social responsibility. Based upon this, enterprises should carry out and reinforce the systematic rules and regulations to improve the social responsibility performance. A due diligence process can help addresses those adverse impacts that are directly linked to operations, products or services of the company through a business relationship with issues ranging from disclosure, employment and industrial relations, etc. and it also helps to mitigate the adverse impacts caused or contributed to or by enterprises. It is the responsibility of all actors in the supply chains and should be mutually reinforced by enterprises operating in different segments of the supply chain.

The 12th Sino-European CSR Roundtable forum aims to share the efficient approaches to build responsible and sustainable supply chains, for example carrying out social or environmental due diligence to improve the social responsibility performance of the enterprises. Distinguished guests from well-known companies and third-party professional organisation will be invited to share their experiences and perspectives on this topic. Representatives from governments, associations and business chambers, research institutions, international organizations, academic institutions, NGOs, media and multinational companies will participate in the forum and contribute their ideas regarding the efficient approaches for responsible and sustainable supply chains.
