On Dec. 6, 2018, the 11th International Conference on CSR Reporting in China will be held in Beijing. As the earliest and most influential high-end platform for social responsibility reporting in China, the conference will focus on the theme of “Responsible Communication Creates Value”.  

2018 marks the 40th anniversary of China’s Reform and Opening-up, and is also an important year for China to embark on a new journey in the new era. In September 2018, President Xi Jinping proposed to “support the establishment of Chinese CSR Coalition in Africa” in his keynote speech at the Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC), which was included in the subsequent Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) - Beijing Action Plan (2019-2021), and the revised Code of Corporate Governance for Listed Companies makes explicit requirement on the environmental and social responsibility, information disclosure, sustainable trade, etc. The SASAC also requires central state-owned enterprises to implement Guidance on Promoting Information Disclosure of Central SOEs and released the Blue Book on Corporate Social Responsibility of Central SOEs (2017).

The new trends put forwards new requirements for CSR in China, and also grant new tasks to CSR information disclosure. How should enterprises better fulfill their social responsibilities, communicate with stakeholders, and make CSR reports fully demonstrate their CSR practices? The upcoming 11th Conference will focus on enterprises’ information disclosure and new trends and standards of CSR reporting.
