On October 17, CSR professionals from nearly 20 organizations including the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), Die Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ), Xinjiang Goldwind Science Technology Co., Ltd.(Goldwind), China Road and Bridge Corporation (CRBC), etc., as well as representatives fromBeijing Enterprises Group Company Limited (BG) and its subsidiaries, visited Beijing’s first garden-style underground sewage treatment plant——Beijing Daoxianghu Lake Underground Reclaimed Water Plant, which is adjacent to the paddy fields of western Beijing. This “GoldenBee CSR 2030 Tour” co-hosted by China WTO Tribune and BG.

The tour members visited the modern water technology exhibition park and the modern sewage plant below the park, thus had a better understanding of the advanced water treatment technology and the way of using reclaimed water of wastewater treatment plant.

During the visit, Mr. Zhang Yang, Director of the Research Office of BG, introduced the business development of BG. He emphasized that BG is a large state-owned group company funded by People’s Government of Beijing Municipality and is committed to the urban sustainable development. It has made outstanding contributions to the coordinated development of Beijing, Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region and the regions outside Beijing.
Ms. Wang Yalin from UNDP introduced a series of UNDP projects in China, and she hoped that Chinese enterprises can join hands with UNDP to contribute to realizing the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
Mr. Yu Zhihong, President and Editor-in-Chief of China WTO Tribune, shared his thoughts from the perspective of social responsibility and sustainability, “Enterprises with goodwill and love will be more and more respected by stakeholders”. The vision of an enterprise determines its development space, and BG is such an enterprise dedicated to making urban life better. The “GoldenBee CSR 2030 Tour” will promote different enterprises to achieve cross-border cooperation for more contributions to sustainable development.
