【Top 10 International Events】 No.01 CSR Europe releases the Business and Human Rights Blueprint

Since 2006, China WTO Tribune has set up an annual column of the top 10 domestic and international CSR events in the past year. In order to ensure comprehensive samples with more precise event description, and open and transparent selection process, we made daily collection and classification, and a consultation of a selected numbers of CSR experts from government, enterprises, universities and research institutions was conducted to further ensure the professionalism and authority of this list.

No.01 CSR Europe releases the Blueprint for Embedding Human Rights in Key Company Functions
   
On March 16, CSR Europe officially released the Blueprint for Embedding Human Rights in Key Company Functions. The Blueprint integrates the human right issues into three key function departments (human resource, procurement and risk management) and defines six elements (cross-functional leadership, share responsibility, incentive, provide operational guidance and training, foster two-way communication, review, analyse and integrate) to provides practical support for embedding human rights.

The coordination and sustainable development between human rights and business are drawing increasing attention. Under the background of globalization, the most severe negative impact to the human rights is often linked to business. The healthy development of industry and commerce will promote to achieve human rights. The Blueprint released by CSR Europe presents a sound conceptual framework and effective approach to embedding human rights, which will benefit enterprises to realize the win-win situation between human right fulfilment and sustainable business development.
