Call for Application: 2016 Best CSR Practices of Foreign-Invested Enterprises in China

With the strong support of local associations (member companies), 2015 Best CSR Practices of Foreign-Invested Enterprises in China activity was widely recognized by the society. “Five Bests” Awards have become a symbol of responsibility for the foreign-invested enterprises in China.   

To further promote foreign-invested enterprises’ communication on CSR practice and establish the responsible image, China Association of Enterprises with Foreign Investment continues to work with China WTO Tribune, associations of enterprises with foreign investment, overseas chambers of commerce in China and well-known colleges and universities to launch an open call and evaluation activity of “2016 Best CSR Practices of Foreign-Invested Enterprises in China” this year.

This activity will continue to deepen the philosophy of “Five Bests” Awards and fully implement the five development concepts: “innovation, coordination, green, open, and sharing” by integrating corporate social responsibility fulfillment into the new development pattern during the 13^th-Five-Year period. Related media promotion will be enhanced to gain a greater influence and to provide opportunities for foreign-invested enterprises to establish a broader CSR development platform. Press Conference for 2016 Best CSR Practices of Foreign-Invested Enterprises in China is also planned to be held in Beijing in early December 2016 (the specific time will be informed).

We are sincerely inviting foreign-invested enterprises in China to join us! Enterprises are volunteering to submit their practices by October 15, 2016. For details, see the appendixes.

Information about the 2016 Best CSR Practices of Foreign-Invested Enterprises in China Activity


I.  Procedures

Stage 1 Practices application and confirmation (2016.8.15-2016.09.30)：
Practices application ->materials submission> practices selection；

Stage 2 Practices writing and expert evaluation（2016.10.1-2016.11.10）
Communicate with enterprises-> provide supplementary materials -> write practices ->confirm practices->evaluate practices->compile practice collection ->compile index report

Stage 3 Publishment and release of practice collection and index report （2016.11.10-2016.12）
Design and print practice collection and index report ->Publish->present awards ->media promotion

II. Evaluation Information

The evaluation process is consisted of two rounds: the public vote and expert evaluation. The public will vote by new media channels and expert evaluation is based on the expert judging panel composed of experts from organizers, governments and CSR experts. The expert judging panel will select good practices according to the application materials, conduct research and communication with the listed enterprises, compile the practices with the supplementary materials and evaluate the practices based on the content.
The award-winning practices will be listed in the collection of Best CSR Practices of Foreign-Invested Enterprises in China, and the award-winning enterprises will be invited to attend the Press Conference for 2016 Best CSR Practices of Foreign-Invested Enterprises in China held in early December 2016.
Expert judging panel will also analyze the characteristics and good experience of best practices and compile “2016 Index Report of Best CSR Practices of Foreign-Invested Enterprises in China”. The index report will be released simultaneously with the practices collection.
 
III.  Media Promotion

Stage 1 (2016.8.15-2016.11.15) Focusing on the promotion on WeChat, we will launch an open call for CSR posters. The outstanding posters will be released on the WeChat account of China Association of Enterprises with Foreign Investment and GoldenBee (jmfcsr).

Stage 2 (after the evaluation) The listed practices will be released on the CSR China website:www.csr-china.net, the official WeChat account of GoldenBee and the magazine China WTO Tribune.

IV.   Fee

For the listed enterprises, the fee is calculated to cover the actual costs of practice writing, expert evaluation, and the compilation, design, printing and promotion of the practice collection and index report. The fee for each practice is 10,000 RMB.
There is no cost for practices that are not listed.

VI.   Evaluation and Awards

 1) "Five Bests" Award
Best Business Partner, Best Customer Service Provider, Best Employer, Best Eco-friendly Pioneer and Best Community Promoter
2) “Contribution to National Strategy” Award
This activity will also focus on the foreign enterprises who support China's national development strategies and show their leading thoughts and practices in “innovation, coordination, green, open, and sharing” by social responsibility practices.
3) “Best Organizer” Award
To encourage local associations of enterprises with foreign investment to motive foreign-invested enterprises to participate in this activity, the outstanding local associations of enterprises with foreign investment will “Best Organizer” Awards.
4) “Most Popular CSR Case” Award
To encourage the extensive participation and expand the social influence, this evaluation process includes the public vote by new media channels. Practices (numbers:5-8 )with the highest votes will win “Most Popular CSR Case” Award.
