ESG competences and biodiversity training successfully held

As the convener of Capitals China Hub, GoldenBee ThinkTank has accumulated expertise in the field of biodiversity over the years. On March 14, a training on ESG Competences and Biodiversity was organized, disseminating the latest policies and cases of biodiversity at home and abroad.

During the training, Dai Yibo, Vice President of GoldenBee Consulting and Expert of GoldenBee ThinkTank, shared participants the cutting-edged topics of biodiversity, including "understanding biodiversity", "the relationship between enterprises and biodiversity" and "biodiversity management in operation".

Ms. Dai highlighted that biodiversity is a multidimensional concept that includes the diversity of species, genetic information and ecosystems. It is closely linked to the survival of human beings and the operation of enterprises, as an essential provider of material resources and ecological services, and even spiritual sustenance. Moreover, the numerous laws and regulations on biodiversity around the world, from circular economy to green development, are influencing the behavior of producers and the preferences of investors.

She then presented three case studies, including the tires production from dandelion extract by Maersk, sustainable soybean supply chain management by COFCO International, and the use of sustainable regenerative agriculture technology by Swire, demonstrated the positive impact and business value of biodiversity for corporate operation.

Mr. Zhu Dan, Senior Manager of Communication Department, Party Committee of China General Nuclear Power Group (CGN), shared the experience of CGN in biodiversity conservation. He introduced CGN’s projects in Daya Bay Nuclear Power Base, Marine Ares of Yangjiang Nuclear Power Station, Ningde Nuclear Power Base, etc., illustrated challenges and solutions of biodiversity management. Mr. Zhu expressed that biodiversity conservation should be an integrated part of business management.

A certificate ceremony was held at the end of training. The participants spoke highly of this training, looking forward to the next training session.
