Due Diligence for Responsible Supply Chains
- The13th Sino-European CSR Roundtable Forum -
9 December 2015
 Renaissance Shanghai Putuo Hotel, ShanghaiChina
As a professional and practical communication platform and channel for corporate social responsibility (CSR), the Sino-European CSR Roundtable Forum has been successfully held twelfth times in the past years. It has been well received by stakeholders and conducted with great support from participants, including relevant Chinese government departments, CSR organizations as well as Chinese and European enterprises. The 13th Sino-European CSR Roundtable Forum will continue the topic in the last roundtable forum about carrying out social or environmental due diligence to improve the responsible supply chains.
If taken reference to the ISO 26000 Guidance on Social Responsibility, we may find that company's understanding of its own social responsibility constitutes the foundation of a responsible supply chain. Enterprises in difference segment of the supply chain can apply various approaches including due diligence and life cycle management to know their own social responsibility. Based upon this, enterprises should carry out and reinforce the systematic rules and regulations to improve the social responsibility performance. A due diligence process can help addresses those adverse impacts that are directly linked to operations, products or services of the company through a business relationship with issues ranging from disclosure, employment and industrial relations, etc. and it also helps to mitigate the adverse impacts caused or contributed to or by enterprises. It is the responsibility of all actors in the supply chains and should be mutually reinforced by enterprises operating in different segments of the supply chain.
This forum aims to deepen the outcomes of all previous forums, share the inspirations, experiences of enterprises in building responsible supply chains by carrying out social or environmental due diligence, and advance the social responsibility performance of the enterprises.
